Delete My Account, Extension for Joomla

JMP Delete My Account is an extension of Joomla! that gives your site members an option through which they can delete their account.

There will be an option for you to set up so that users can only temporarily lock their accounts without having to permanently delete them.

In addition, there is an email address validation feature when users want to delete their account. A code will be sent to their email and they must enter it correctly, which reduces the risk of someone trying to delete their account.

Email verification

When an account is deleted/temporarily locked, an email will also be sent to that user and the administrator.

Note, this account deletion feature is not available with admin accounts.

After downloading and installing this extension, go to Menu manager to create a new menu: Menus > Main Menu > Add New Menu Item

Select Menu Item Type is JMP Delete My Account, then fill in the remaining parameters.

To change the settings, go to Components > JMP Delete My Account > Options to get started. Settings include:

  • Action: Delete account hoặc Block account

    We have a user group called "Members" in the frontend, which is a subgroup of "Managers." Members of this group cannot see the "Delete My Profile" option. How can I change this? Members of this group should also be able to delete their profiles.

      @David DavidUnfortunately, the container component only displays white content. The HTML code inside is:

      <div id="system-message-container" aria-live="polite"></div>

      <main></main>

      It would be better not to use a system message anyway, but to have the option of filling out a textarea.

      I have another feature request. It would be great if admin users saw a message in the frontend instead of just a blank page. This could then be customized using a language override.

Hello,

I'm considering purchasing your File Attachments extension for a Joomla 5 website.

I intend to use it for distributing 3D CAD model archives (ZIP files) to website visitors.

I have three questions:

1. Does the extension generate temporary download links that automatically expire after a configurable period (e.g. 5 minutes), or are the download URLs permanent?

2. Does it support rate limiting to prevent automated bots from repeatedly requesting downloads?

3. Are the uploaded files stored outside the publicly accessible web directory, and are they delivered through a PHP download controller rather than direct file access?

These features are important because I want to protect the hosting server from automated mass downloads while allowing legitimate visitors unlimited access to different models.
