JoomHelper Media Plugin was created by s1671712453
Hi, I have just bought and installed your excellent video player and paid $4.99 and $5 for it. When playing portrait mode (vertical) videos, there is no problem playing it on a mobile phone, however, when playing it on a landscape screen, such as an iPad or computer. The video is far too tall and you have to scroll up and down the screen to see all of it. Is it possible to constrain the width of the video player, before pressing the Play button, so it is much smaller on the screen?
Thanks,
Andy

Merry Christmas to Andy,
Can you give me the address where you put the video? I tried with the demo site joomhelper.com/LJ3Rpb7 but everything is fine.

Hi,
Thank you for your very kind reply and greetings. A test video is here wilsonpro.co.uk and it is on the second page on the home page. This further explanation might help
When the player is on an article page on a PC and the video is not playing yet, the player thumbnail image of a landscape video fills the whole page width and this is not a problem with a landscape video because a laptop screen is landscape as well. The problem happens when viewing a portrait video on a PC as the player thumbnail still fills the whole width of the page and results in the vertical size of the thumbnail image being stretched well over the top and bottom of the computer screen, until you click the Full-Screen button and play the video.
I looked once more at the example on your demo website and think if you added a portrait (vertical) video, as shot on a mobile phone (which is very popular these days) you will see the problem instantly.
The solution would be to constrain the video players' non-playing, non-Full Screen (thumbnail) width to a user-selected value, such as 400px or 600px etc. Can this be done, please?
I would like to suggest another improvement, please. When the Play button is pressed the video should automatically go full screen. I hope this is helpful.
Thanks,
Andy

Hi,
Currently, this module does not support a fixed aspect ratio for players, it depends on the video size.
The solution now is to convert the video to a different ratio. Or I could use a JS code to fix the scale, however this might make the control bar smaller.
Please let me know your opinion.
