Hi,
It's Joomla User Authentication (not Email Authentication). It means users can login to your site by their username or email when they registered.
This plugin will help you solve this topic forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=979774

Hi,
it seems like I was not able to explain me well:
1 - " Authentication Email " is the name of the linked plugin. I asked you::
as far as I understand your "Joomla Email Login Plugin" for Joomla 4 is the heir of " Authentication Email " for Joomla 3, Right ?
2 - "...This plugin will help you solve this topic forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=979774 ..." = Which plugin ?!?
I am "joomleb", I wrote that topic. Have you read the entire discussion ?
I asked you:
Did you added this Email as Username option ?

Hi,
I understand your solution. You want to use a trick to have joomla save the username with their email address. They can then log into the website using their email.
Here are some downsides to using this approach:
- Any customizations may be lost when upgrading Joomla.
- User's email address can be made public when a certain extension uses their username (eg comment extensions, social...).
- This method should only be used for new sites. For sites that already have members, the registration form may show a duplicate error even though the email address has not been used.
