Joomla Email Login Plugin

Email login for Joomla

By default, when logging into a website using Joomla source code, you need to enter your Username and Password. However, in some cases, you'll want users to be able to use Email instead of their Username to log in. The plugin below will help you.

After activating the plug-in, users can log in to the website with their registered email account and password without worrying about forgetting their username.

Buy Now ( $10 ) Forum

This plugin works with Joomla 3, 4 and 5.

After installing it, you go to the Admin page > System > Plugins > System - JMP Email Login > Enable it.

From now on, users can use both their username and email address to log in.

Note: There are some cases that after activating the plugin, the website may crash. When it does you can solve it by using your hosting's File browser to access the directory: plugins/system. Then change the folder name "email" to "email_tmp". Next, report your error to me, I will check and fix it.

@Staweb "Username" is still used as usual. This plugin only adds a login method for users (in case they prefer to use an email address).

I'd like to use this but before, can you tell me if it works on registration i.e. the new users is only asked for an email address, not both?

    Hello
The plugin works fine in my Joomla! 4, but when I install the Jomsocial extension, then the plugin stops working and there is no way to log in via emial.
Is it possible to make the plugin work with other extensions as well?

@David I changed the order of system plugins, but the problem persists. It looks like the "System - Jomsocial Redirect" plugin is forcing the login method. With the old plugin "Authentication - EMail" from Michael Richey for Joomla 3.x login works fine. Maybe the login engine in Joomla 4 is structured differently.

@Robi You try to go to Plugin Manager > Filter all system plugins > Click the "Sorting" button and drag the Email Login plugin to the top. I hope this issue will be fixed.

    Hello
I had your free version. I have the impression now that it is pay only.No worries about buying it, I love it.
I would just like to know if you have corrected what seems to me to be a problem? :
On version 1.0, I had put nom@site.Eu and it was not recognised. I had to put nom@site.eu ?

    For info,
    a) I was not informed of an update via the joomla system :-(
    b) by putting JMP in "install from the web" I did not find this plugin!

    Regards
